Hey everyone! Just wanted to give you a quick update on the status of the film... I know it's been a while...
Right now our DVD is available for sale in the UK! They even designed some crazy new artwork for the DVD case...
Our sales agency has also gotten us distribution deals in Germany, and I just found out Japan as well. The distribution process has been interesting and somewhat frustrating... There are a lot of requirements that the distributors have before they can start selling DVD's or broadcasting the film. These are called "deliverables" and can be quite technically complex... Or they can just be flat out expensive! On top of that, each distributor has their own list of deliverables that they require, including different types of insurance or Quality Control testing for broadcast! Much more complicated that just throwing a short up on youtube or vimeo.
Still, it's cool that the film is getting out there. On that note, I recently discovered that we've been pirated. In theory that's bad, but since we aren't really making any money anyway it's kind of cool that someone thought it was worth stealing! All in all, we're doing really well considering there are plenty of films with much bigger budgets that never get any distribution deals at all!
We also have had a couple of offers for distribution here in North America... While this is very exciting, it will require more work on the film before we can move forward. I swear, making a feature is a never-ending process!
